Traditional (Swedish) Body Massage

30 - 90 minutes

£25 - £65 depending on duration

The body massage I practice originated in Sweden, with the original massage technique involving several movements which work both superficially and also deeper into the tissue layers.

Movements such as effleurage work over the skin with the palm of the hand inducing overall relaxation, whereas petrissage techniques work more deeply promoting deep relaxation within the tissues and muscles. Hacking and cupping movements stimulate blood flow and enliven the body.

Body Massage is ideal for releasing muscular tension, relieving pain and facilitating healing from injury. It can alleviate stress, relax the body and enhance overall wellbeing. It may also help with sleep and digestive disorders, increasing circulation and encouraging lymph drainage.

Whether you're in need of an invigorating pixie-pummelling or a relaxing pixie-pampering, your treatment and the treatment room will be adapted especially for you!

What do I wear?

Generally people receive a treatment in their underwear and are covered with towels. I carefully uncover each area of the body as appropriate and ensure the rest is tucked up nice and discreetly

Do I have to have a full body massage?

Body massage can be experienced as a whole treatment or in part. Treatments are adapted specifically to your needs. Popular areas for shorter treatments are back, neck and shoulders as generally these areas are most susceptible to tension. If you've been on your feet all day though, then why not devote some attention to those legs and feet!

Can children have a massage?

Massage can be beneficial to people of all ages. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome and the treatment will be adapted appropriately.

If you have any questions or would like to book, I'm always happy to help!
